Founder
Norman Wesley “Wess” Clark was born in Chicago in 1959 and has lived there for the majority of his life. He attended catholic school for most of his educational career. He loved playing basketball and football. As a young boy, he had a love for classic cars and this love still captures his heart today, owning several classic cars, one which he has owned since 1979.
At the age of 18, he packed his belongings, headed to Normal Illinois and attended Illinois State University on a football scholarship. During his college career, he was very focused on his educational curriculum and sports. He was known for his athletic abilities in both football and basketball. He was very astute in math and prides himself on being able to calculate budgets and profits in his head. Not surprisingly, Wess received excellent grades during his elementary, high school and throughout his college days.
Norman W. Clark is the founder of Chase RC, Wess Gate Work Centers LLC, Loyal Plumbing by Chase RC, Roofing by Wess Gate Work Centers, and Baron Electric by Chase RC. All companies are construction related, dealing with all aspects of construction. Wess also consults with various company leaders on every aspect of construction. He has worked with these leaders on increasing their real estate portfolios.
Before devoting his work fulltime to his multiple businesses, Wess, was selected by then 3rd Ward Alderman Dorothy Tillman to be a builder of one of the homes of the Bronzeville Parade of Homes on South St. Lawrence Ave. in Chicago. Wess was also a silent partner of a comedy club in Chicago that was very successful for over ten years. Although he was a silent partner, he was very involved from start (build out of the location) to finish when all partners mutually agreed to close the business and go on to other endeavors.
Wess takes pride in all of his employees by taking the time to train them on various aspects of business as well as empowering them to take the reigns and run certain aspects of the businesses.
Wess is successful at all of his businesses because he understands how to run a business, from start to finish. From the initial contact with a client, Wess develops a budget, which consists of all expenses that will be incurred from the start to the end of the project with successful profits and minimal losses. One of his clients said it best: “When you think a particular construction job to be completed, Wess is a focused, organized and has a dynamic work ethic and he saved us a ton of money because he knows his stuff. Wess won’t stop until the job is done to HIS satisfaction, which exceeds any of our expectations”.
In addition to being a successful businessman, Wess enjoys exercising, bike riding (both bicycle and motorcycle), playing basketball and watching Marvel movies and cartoons. Wess currently lives in Chicago and visits his daughter and granddaughter in New York City as often as his schedule permits.
